KOLAM. The forms of the sacred (event of Torino Spiritualità)
Thursday 29th September| from 10.30 to 12.30 │ Circolo dei lettori, Sala Gioco (Turin) | DAYAVATI DEVI,PUJA MEHRA, SVAMINI SHUDDHANANDA GHIRI
Indian women preserve the custom of tracing polymorphs and polychrome designs (kolam) at the entrance of houses and temples during religious festivities. Among these drawings, made with colored powders, flowers, rice flour or cereal, many representing animals, the expression of the sacred feeling that Hinduism recognizes in every aspect of Creation. Through a theoretical and practical experience in which time will be drawn a kolam, the workshop explores the animal symbolism in religious and artistic cultures, moving from Hinduism and coming to Christianity.
